Can you offer in-person sessions?

No, I only offer online sessions.

What are the costs of your services?

A session costs EUR 89 per hour: 45 minutes of therapy and 15 minutes of administration related to the client (responding to emails, short parent meetings etc). Additional parent/ school meetings will be charged for per my hourly rate. If you are based outside of Europe, please contact me for more information on fees applicable to you.

Can I claim your fees from my health insurance?

Mind & Heart Consulting is a private practice and therefore not affiliated with any (European) health insurances. It is your responsibility to share my invoices with your insurance to see whether they can cover any of the therapy costs.

What is your cancellation policy?

All sessions need to be cancelled 24 hours prior to the scheduled time. You will be charged the full price if you do not cancel 24 hours before the session.

What is the length of a therapy session?

Depending on the age and needs of your child, we could do 30-minute sessions, but generally sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

Can you collaborate with my child's school?

Yes, I have extensive experience in working with/in schools to support students, so I would be happy to collaborate with your child's school to enhance support.

How do I prepare my child for therapy?

Depending on your child's age, you can choose how you would like to talk to them about it. Getting help is not a 'bad' thing and it is important to not describe my support as such. I will do everything I can to make them feel comfortable during our sessions. If you need more guidance on how you can discuss this with your child, I would gladly give you guidance.

I want to first talk to you about my child's needs to see whether you might be a good fit, can I do that?

Yes! Please schedule a free Discovery Call with me so that we can determine whether I might be a good fit for your child.

Father and Children

I am not satisfied with (parts of) the service you provide. What steps can I take to resolve this?

Please contact me first so that we can attempt to resolve any matters of concern. Should you still be unsatisfied, you can contact The Dutch Foundation for Complaints and Dispute Resolution (Geschillencommissie) - https://www.degeschillencommissie.nl/english/

Can you write up psycholegal reports to support a divorce, custody disputes etc.?

My role is focused solely on providing emotional and therapeutic support to my clients. I do not engage in any psycholegal work, including assessments or reports for matters such as custody disputes, divorce proceedings, or court-related evaluations. My primary commitment is to the emotional wellbeing and psychological development of the child within the context of a safe, supportive, and confidential therapeutic relationship. This ensures that the therapeutic space remains centered on the child’s needs, free from the influence or demands of legal processes.

How do you protect my child's information in the online therapy space?

I will protect your child's personal information by:

1) Not taking any pictures/ recording any sessions without your written permission.

2) Safeguarding the information shared in the consent form and not using it for any other purposes.

3) Saving your child's documentation and session notes only for as long as needed before destroying it.

Therapy takes place in an online space via Google Meet. Although I put all the necessary protocols in place to protect your child's personal information, there is always a risk when using electronic devices that a breach could take place or that there could be technical disruptions or interruptions in service.
